Two people were severely injured on Saturday as the result of a high-impact solo car crash on Greenville Road in Livermore, Alameda County Fire Department officials stated on social media this week.
Both required extrication because of “significant damage” to the car and its position next to a brick wall, according to the ACFD.
Following their rescue from the vehicle July 5, the victims were airlifted to nearby trauma centers.
“Our dedicated firefighters worked swiftly and efficiently to ensure both victims received medical attention,” ACFD officials wrote.
As part of the incident, the vehicle struck a live power pole. This brought down multiple high-voltage power lines.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the status of the victims’ conditions is not immediately apparent.
Responding to the “serious incident” that day were ACFD, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Falck Ambulance, Reach 2, CHP H-30 and California Highway Patrol, ACFD officials said.
Neither LPFD nor CHP responded to a request for comment as of Tuesday afternoon.
