Livermore baseball falls in final of NorCal Division IV tournament
Reflecting on the Livermore Cowboys’ surprise run to the NorCal Division IV Baseball Tournament final, where they lost a tough 2-0 game to the top seed. Plus, my thoughts on CIF stepping in it again on transgender competition at state track and field championships.

FINAL EBAL BASEBALL RANKINGS
1. De La Salle (23-5): The Spartans beat Saint Francis in the first round of NorCal D-I play, then lost 3-0 to Valley Christian-San Jose in the semifinals.
2. Granada (20-10): Upset St. Mary’s-Stockton 5-4 in the first round, then were eliminated 11-7 by Elk Grove in the second round.
3. Monte Vista (19-7): Season over.
4. Dublin (17-8): Season over.
5. San Ramon Valley (13-9-2): Season over.
Others: Livermore (12-19), Foothill (14-11), Amador Valley (10-14), California (11-12-2), Dougherty Valley (5-18).

1. San Ramon Valley (23-7): The Wolves fall 5-4 in the first round of the CIF D-I tournament.

4. Foothill (13-12): The Falcons fall 9-2 to eventual champion Las Plumas in the CIF D-III tournament.
