The Pleasanton Police Department’s continuing investigation into a serious-injury crash from Monday will lead to lane closures on Hopyard Road at a major intersection on Thursday morning.
All northbound lanes of Hopyard Road will be closed at Stoneridge Drive beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday while officers use “advanced technology” in its follow-up investigation that could last several hours at the scene, according to Sgt. Marty Billdt.
Police are working to learn more about what transpired three days earlier, when a car on northbound Hopyard Road sideswiped another near the Clorox Way intersection, causing the second vehicle to crash, according to Billdt.
“The driver and passenger of the vehicle were transported to Eden Hospital with critical injuries, while the other driver was uninjured and remained on scene,” Billdt said. “Details of what caused the collision, including whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor, remain under investigation.”
The initial crash investigation closed lanes on Hopyard Road from approximately 7 a.m. to noon on Monday, according to the sergeant.
