The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau on Tuesday confirmed the identity of the woman who died after she was hit by an SUV while walking on Interstate 580 in Livermore earlier this month, following a delay with fingerprint testing.

The decedent was 52-year-old Traci Lee Joiner of Livermore.

The collision unfolded at approximately 4 a.m. Sept. 2 when a woman — later identified as Joiner — was seen walking on the right shoulder of westbound I-580 near the Las Colinas Road overpass when for an unknown reason she moved into the driving lanes where she was hit by a Ford Explorer, the CHP reported at the time.

Joiner was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision remains under investigation, but the CHP said alcohol was not a suspected factor for the Explorer driver, whose name was not released.

Anyone with information about the crash can contact the CHP-Dublin office at 925-828-0466.
