Pleasanton city officials notified adjacent neighbors that demolition of the existing Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Station 3 will start on Wednesday (Feb. 10).

The building located at 3200 Santa Rita Road, which has served the LPFD since 1969, will be replaced with a new modern facility, officials said.

Construction on new building will start right after and is expected to last nine months. In the meantime, firefighters normally assigned to Station 3 will work out of a temporary facility located at Stoneridge Drive and Rheem Street.

“We will do our best to limit the amount of noise, disruption, and other inconveniences that can be caused by construction,” officials said.

Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to call 510-639-1914 (Marcon) or city engineer Steve Kirkpatrick at 931-5676.

  1. I am looking forward to having a shiny new firehouse #3. I feel like that crew is a special part of our neighborhood. I’ll miss seeing the rigs pull in and out, but grateful that their living conditions will be enhanced. You boys do the best in your temporary digs, and don’t forget to come back!

  2. I echo CeleG’s comments! I, too, am excited for them to have a new, modern facility. It has always been comforting to know they were down the street. It will be a bit unsettling to have our firefighters further away during construction! They are an important, friendly part of our neighborhood, and I can’t wait for them to be back, happily settled in their new firehouse.
