The Pleasanton community ushered in the holiday season with the annual tree-lighting downtown last Friday, a little more modest of a ceremony than usual — but still plenty festive — that was held almost a week later than planned after bad weather washed out the original event date, forcing city officials to cancel the annual parade and reschedule the tree-lighting.

Santa Claus joined the City Council onstage to illuminate the new holiday tree outside the Museum on Main.
