Ed Westmoreland was joined by an enthusiastic crowd Monday as he cut the ribbon and opened his new Clubhouse restaurant in the Pleasanton Hotel at 855 Main St.
Westmoreland also owns Eddie Papa’s restaurant on Hopyard Road. Clubhouse is the first of two restaurants, a banquet room and an outdoor patio Westmoreland will open by year’s end. Across the center hallway from the Clubhouse, work is finishing on Lily’s Spirit Room, a new white tablecloth restaurant the will open in time for Thanksgiving dining.
“Eddie Papa’s is very successful, but it’s not downtown,” he said. “This is an opportunity for me to be involved on Main Street and to restore the Grand Lady, as the hotel is called.”

Good luck to Ed and team. Great to see someone local invest in downtown. Am sure it will be a major success.
Ed,
Great to see it back in business. We have many great memories of the Hotel.
LOVE it! GOOD LUCK Eddie and Staff! Can’t wait for entire Hotel restaurant facilities to open!!
It’s so good to hear that my hometown’s “hotel”/restaurant is is back in operation! Thanks to John Madden and good luck to Ed Westmoreland!
Ed,
I was very excited when we shared emails and I learned you would be re-opening my favorite Pleasanton Hotel…
“The Pleasanton Hotel”
So congratulations for your grand opening of the first of your 4 Hotel operations….I know you’ll be successful,
and finally return the “Hotel” to the quality operation it so deserves.
Next time we’re in Pleasanton, we will stop and see all your improvements and enjoy your hospitality.
Looking forward to having a wonderful meal at the new restaurant. It just amazes me how Matt Sullivan sticks his long nose in every bodies business but his own. Good God, Matt, go join the circus or the foreign legion. Give the young people a chance to do something good for Pleasanton. You are getting to be another Trump! Greetings Karen!
Hope the food is better than Eddie Papa’s or they will be in trouble fast.
Congratulations Ed and team! You and Eddie Papa’s add a lot to our community and we can’t wait to see what you’ve done in this new venture.
Also nice to see Bill Laube pop into this thread. We miss you.
ED
VERY BEST Wishes for your major success.
I SHALL RETURN !!!
It is exciting to see the rebirth of this historic anchor of “old” Pleasanton. I am sure Eddie will bring his talent for good food, good value and a great family experience to each of these venues.
Much luck and success!
Great to see the Hotel re opening
Interior well done and my first meal presented well
Best of luck to Ed and crew
So Nice to see the Pleasanton hotel open for business again. The food at Eddie Papa‘s has always been wonderful and we wish the new restaurant success.
