Applications for one of 38 “below market rent” apartments in the new high-rise buildings near the BART station in Hacienda are being accepted by the city of Pleasanton and Essex Development through Feb. 6.

The pre-application process will determine the screening order and establish a wait-list for the affordable units located in the Galloway development at 5789 Gibraltar Drive.

The units will be available for lease from February through September and will include studios and 1- 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. Three of the units will be ADA accessible and available for lease by persons with physical disabilities.

All of the affordable units will be reserved for very low income tenants only whose household income is now more than 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) limit.

Printed copies of the application are also available at the Pleasanton Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave., Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd. and the Pleasanton Civic Center, 200 Old Bernal Ave.

Applications will be accepted no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6. No exceptions or consideration will be given to applications received after the deadline date.

Informational sessions about the affordable apartments and the application process will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd. and also from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Pleasanton City Council chamber in the Civic Center at 200 Old Bernal Road.
