Pleasanton police detectives have arrested two Pleasanton men in the investigation of a stabbing that occurred in the Pleasanton Plaza parking lot on Oct. 20.
Detectives arrested 21-year-old Franco Estay as they served a search warrant on his home Oct. 25, said police.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been involved in some type of dispute with another man, which led to the stabbing.
Estay has been identified as the man who stabbed the victim several times upon his upper body.
Earlier in the week, detective also arrested 24-year-old Arturo Sanchez Jr. — he was identified as having driven Estay away from the scene after the assault, police said.
The district attorney’s office has filed charges against Estay for attempted murder, and against Sanchez for being an accessory to the crime.
The identification of the suspects was made possible, in part, by high quality surveillance cameras located in the area the crime occurred, said police officials.
Both suspects were booked at Santa Rita Jail.
The victim has been released from the hospital.

Great job Pleasanton PD. Thank you for putting yourselves in harms way to get people like this off our streets.
Is it possible they are illegals? If so, shouldn’t be here to begin with. If not, send the. To prison for a long time.
To could they – you know our government isn’t prosecuting or deporting illegals anymore? In fact Obama is working up a plan now for amnesty for the millions that are here. Voting is beoming easier without an ID in more places.
Our tax dollars at work!
