The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is holding a free Fire Safety Expo starting at 8 a.m. today at the Fire Training Tower located at 3333 Busch Road.
The event, which will continue through noon, is being held in observance of Fire Prevention Week, which last through next Saturday.
This year’s Fire Prevention message is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives.”
According to the National Fire Protection Association, when smoke alarms fail to operate, it is usually because batteries are missing, disconnected, or dead. Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries.
The event will have giveaways, firefighter demonstrations, fire escape planning, fire safety information and much more. In addition, the public can interact in the fire department’s Fire Safety Trailer, learn how to use a fire extinguisher and obtain disaster preparedness information.
There will also be a children’s obstacle course, as well as other demonstrations and activities.

While you can have Coffee with a Cop, and I’m sure they will have Donuts too!!! You can also go out to the Pleasanton Fire Training Center on Busch Road, Saturday morning October 4th, and have Breakfast with some Great Firefighters at their annual Fire Exposition. Great time for the whole family, especially young children!
