Pleasanton Police Department Chief Dave Spiller has sworn in five new officers, who replace others who have retired or transferred in recent months.

The new officers are Catrina Clark, Bradlee Middleton, Travis Oliver, Bradley Palmquist and Tyler Paulsen.

They are now enrolled in a 16-week training period before being sent out on their own as patrol.

Spiller said the selection process for new officers is challenging, with multiple interviews, medical and psychological examinations and an in-depth background investigation.

“The background process to assess these new officers revealed a stellar work history and solid communication skills,” Spiller said.

  1. WOW ! 16 weeks training !! I notice we don’t hear about those 29 1/2 & 30 yr retirements as much in last couple years. …guess they decided it best to quietly slip away.
Today in Safeway I saw 3 kid firemen, it crossed my mind, we don’t hear about police and fire revolving door retirement replacements as much as we did a few years back,
I did read about the firemen’s ‘muster’ to reminisce about the good old days when we were friends with our ‘volunteer’ crews. (back before you know what).
