Police detectives have determined that a home invasion robbery that ended in a shooting Saturday night in Livermore was drug-related.

The victim was shot at about 11:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of Paseo Laguna Seco, police said.

According to the victims, several suspects entered the home to commit a robbery, but when the victims resisted an altercation ensued, police said.

The suspects shot the victim and immediately fled the residence, according to police.

The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital with not life-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives determined the shooting and home invasion robbery were an isolated incident. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

  1. Sorry to hear that somebody was injured.

It seems that no matter what some folks do to remain safe, there are toxic intruders willing to injure or kill innocent people.

I hope this person goes to prison for a very long time.
