If Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, the amusement park worked its magic on Harvest Park Middle School when it recently received top awards there.
Harvest Park’s jazz band, wind ensemble, string orchestra and chorus took home numerous awards at the Music in the Parks competition in Anaheim.
The jazz band won first place in their division, best overall award and judges’ choice for the entire festival. The wind ensemble won first place in their division, best overall award and judges’ choice. The mixed chorus won first place in their division. The select ensemble won first place. The chorus won the best overall award and judges’ choice. Kevin Bowman won the jazz soloist award and Devin Dunne wond the vocal soloist award.
Students are under the direction of Paul Perazzo for the band and string instruments and Diana Sprague for the chorus.
