Medical Center wins award
San Ramon Regional Medical Center was recently awarded the “Excellence in Patient Safety and Health Care Quality Award” by four of the state’s leading health care plans, Aetna, Blue Shield of California, CIGNA HealthCare and United Healthcare. The award is based on results from The Leapfrog Group Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. San Ramon Medical Center was one of 22 hospitals in California recognized with this award. It was among the top 10 percent of the 216 hospitals statewide that took part in the survey.TS Comedy/Walk-a-thon
The Northern California Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance is holding its third annual Comedy/Walk-a-thon Sunday, May 21, at Jack London Square in Oakland. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the walk starts at 10 a.m. After the walk, participants will enjoy a comedy show by Brain Copeland, who is currently starring in a one-man show at the San Francisco Marsh Theater. The Pleasanton Wellness Committee will be conducting a discussion and responding to the Family and Community Involvement portion of the School Health Index. The committee is looking for administrators, staff and parents of students in the district to express their opinions from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, at the Alisal Exploration Room. The discussion will follow the Center for Disease Control’s recommended survey. The Pleasanton Unified School District’s Wellness Policy is currently under review, and this survey will aid in creating the final document. The Pleasanton Hotel was recently named a “Gold Plate Winner” by the Best Independent Restaurant Association. Gold Plate Winners are selected after passing thorough, anonymous inspection, including such factors as service standards, food quality, presentation and atmosphere. The Pleasanton Hotel is the first Pleasanton restaurant to receive this award.
