For more than 20 years, the ValleyCare Auxiliary has been awarding scholarships, totaling more than $100,000, to local high school students. This year, four $4,000 and two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. The program is available to graduating high school seniors who reside in the Tri-Valley and plan to enter training in a health-related profession. Application forms are available at the local high schools. They are also available at the Information and Reception desks and Auxiliary offices at both ValleyCare Medical Center, 5555 W. Las Positas Boulevard in Pleasanton and Valley Memorial, 1111 E. Stanley Boulevard in Livermore. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 10 and mailed to Scholarship Chair Petey Pehrson, 643 Via Del Sol, Livermore, CA. 94550.

Golf tickets benefit schools
The Partnerships in Education Foundation and Pleasanton Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation with the help of school organizations are currently selling tickets for the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship Tournament at Wente Vineyards Mar. 30-Apr. 3. The Tournament will showcase the PGA Nationwide Tour, which includes great golfers and up-and-coming golf stars. Proceeds will be split between the foundations and school organizations. Tickets are $20 each and will allow the ticket holder to access the grounds for all four days of the tournament. There swill also be food and wine provided by Wente Vineyards, art and performances from the local community. Hooray for Harvest Park
The California Directors of Activities/California Association of Student Leaders (CADA/CASL) awarded Harvest Park Middle School the Outstanding Student Activities Program Award. Harvest Park’s activities program, led by teacher Bill Bowen and Associated Student Body President Mary Easley, was commended for improving the school environment through excellent student activities. Harvest Park will be recognized at the CADA Annual Convention Mar. 1-4 and the CASL Student State Conference Apr. 2.
