Beth and Tim Ramirez spent 17 days in Japan at the height of cherry blossom season. They traveled to Tokyo, Nagoya, Suzuka Circuit, Osaka, Kyoto, Takayama and ended their trip viewing Mount Fuji.
“Tokyo reminded us of Manhattan with its bustling sidewalks, the Harajuku fashion district and the city’s amazing skyline,” Beth told the Pleasanton Weekly.
“Nagoya served as our travel base for three days to attend the third Formula 1 race of the season at the Suzuka Circuit,” she said of their time at the Japanese Grand Prix on April 6. “Local fans went crazy cheering for their countryman Yuki Tsunoda. We got to do a grid walk and paddock tour, every F1 fan’s dream!”
“Visiting Osaka we enjoyed eating Takoyaki in Dotonburi, the famous neon billboard neighborhood,” Beth added. “Our days in Kyoto were filled by visiting shrines and temples. Takayama was the Spring Festival where elaborately decorated floats are pulled through the streets. Our final day was spent viewing a snow capped Mt. Fuji.”
