Clothing retailer Hollister is set to open a new store inside the Stoneridge Shopping Center later this year, according to a recent press release from the Pleasanton mall.
In addition, two new food and beverage options will be opening inside the mall this year; Maruwu Seicha, an authentic Japanese tea shop, and ONIGILLY Japanese Kitchen, a chain in the Bay Area known for its Japanese street food.
“We’re seeing strong demand from top national and regional brands that want to be part of the momentum here at Stoneridge,” said Ruben Perez, executive vice president of leasing at Simon Property Group, the national real estate investment trust that owns the mall.
“As we talk with prospective tenants, there’s a clear recognition that this property offers more than a traditional retail setting,” Perez added. “Visitors are coming here for the full experience—great dining, new concepts, and the trusted stores they already enjoy.”
According to the April 14 press release, the Hollister store is scheduled to open during the third quarter of the year. No clear date has yet been announced.
Hollister has been a widely known retailer for decades and features casual clothing as well as “trend-setting styles that are both upscale and authentic”.
“We are proud to bring yet another destination brand to Stoneridge with the arrival of Hollister,” Kevin Saldaña, the general manager at Stoneridge, said in the press release.
In regard to the two new dining options, Maruwu Seicha is also set to open later this year on the mall’s first level. According to the press release, the shop will cater to tea novices and enthusiasts alike as guests will be able to enjoy “handcrafted teas crafted using time-honored traditions”.
ONIGILLY Japanese Kitchen, which started off as a food cart in San Francisco before expanding into other cities across the Bay Area, will also offer customers a unique street food dining experience by featuring popular items such as onigiri, which are pressed rice balls that contain a wide variety of different fillings.
The press release states that the restaurant and the tea shop will open later this year but provides no clear opening date.
“As we continue to expand our roster of dining and retail experiences, we aren’t simply creating a place to shop, we are building a true hub for the East Bay community where people can gather and enjoy time together,” Saldaña said. “Brands are more excited than ever to become a part of the community that we are shaping right here in Pleasanton.”
These new attractions continue the mall’s progress of expanding its diversity of stores during 2025, which saw a number of new dining and shopping businesses open their doors, according to its owners. Some of those tenants included It’s a Grind Coffeehouse, Pop Mart, Shiekh Shoes, Balabala, Carter’s and the Funshare Arcade.
