Beer is officially flowing at Del Cielo Brewing Co.’s new brewery and taproom in Livermore.
The Martinez-based company began the process of expanding to Livermore earlier this year, spurred on by high demand at the flagship location founded in 2018, owners Luis Castro and Cielomar Cuevas told Livermore Vine this past spring.
The company occupies the former facility of Shadow Puppet Brewing Co., which announced its closure last year due to strained operations.
Since the Latino-owned family business held its soft-opening about six weeks ago, Castro said he’s already seen the community-building at Del Cielo that he and Cuevas were hoping for.
“It’s just nice to see people coming over here,” Castro told Livermore Vine. “It’s becoming a place for people with families and regulars to hang out.”
On Sept. 6, Castro and Cuevas celebrated the grand opening of Del Cielo in Livermore.

Fans of the brewery may be happy to learn that the Livermore menu includes most of the same beverages and food items as the Martinez location.
The site’s full kitchen offers shareables like yuca fries, sweet plantains and barbacoa empanadas as well as burgers, sandwiches, salads, tacos and a kids’ menu.
In terms of drinks, Del Cielo is pouring light, darker and hoppy beers as well as sour and specialty beers. There is also michelada in a new flavor every quarter, monthly slushies for kids and mocktails.
There’s something for everyone, Castro said. Personally, his favorites are the classic michelada and house burger.
Del Cielo holds regular trivia, karaoke and live music events.
The brewery and taproom also hosts private events and distributes their products at various locations throughout the state including Whole Foods Market, Total Wine & More and BevMo!
