Camellia Wang, an incoming junior at Pleasanton’s Amador Valley High School, took first place in the Congressional Art Competition for District 14.

Wang’s winning submission, a woodblock print entitled “Elder”, will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year along with all of the other award winners from across the country. 

The Pleasanton Unified School District announced Wang’s win in a recent newsletter to the community, as the 14th Congressional District office is currently vacant. “Congratulations to Camellia on this outstanding achievement and for representing Amador Valley and PUSD on a national stage,” school district officials said.
