The Golden Follies senior Las Vegas-style revue has two afternoon performances next weekend, and The Jeff Bordes Quartet will be joined by vocalist Alanna Vicente for a special concert, “A Jazz Tribute to Disney Classics”, two weeks later.

Featuring a cast of performers ages 56 to 86 years old, Golden Follies are known for their “high-energy dance routines, dazzling costumes and timeless musical repertoire” in shows that mix “Broadway classics, contemporary hits and various production numbers”, Firehouse reps noted.

The ensemble usually sells out the Firehouse days or more in advance, and limited tickets remain available for the two Golden Follies’ shows at 2 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 23-24).

The city’s Presenting Series at the Firehouse will continue on the evening of Sept. 6 with trumpeter Bordes – an Amador Valley High School alumnus — accompanied by Vicente on vocals, Tammy Hall on piano, Andrew Currier on bass and Darius Minaee on drums to put a jazz spin on Disney classic songs.

Firehouse reps said the audience can look forward to “rich harmonies, inventive arrangements and the joyful spirit of jazz” while being transported to the worlds of their favorite Disney films.

“I’m so excited to invite you to A Jazz Tribute to Disney Classics — a magical night where we bring the iconic songs you know and love to life through the language of jazz,” Bordes wrote on Instagram. “From dreamy ballads to swinging classics, this is a night for all ages — filled with heart, soul and a little Disney magic.”

Tickets and more information about the three Presenting Series shows can be found at firehousearts.org.

Some seats are also still available for this Friday night’s performance of “Asthitva: Tale of the Pregnant King” at the Firehouse, presented by Siddhi Creative. Indian artists Adithya PV and Parshwanath Upadhye are coming to the U.S. for this American premiere show, organizers said.

“‘Asthitva’, a satirical work in Bharatanatyam genre on identity, gender, and dharma, tells the story of a king who, in a miraculous twist of fate, is chosen to bear a child. What follows is a deeply layered journey of self-inquiry, transformation, and transcendence,” according to the Firehouse. “This new work blends tradition and innovation in a performance that is both magical and thought-provoking.”
