Wente Vineyards recently announced its spring and summertime events, with this year’s schedule featuring a new wine-tasting and dining experience.

Familiar favorites are carrying on between April and September too, including the annual Summer Music Series, White Party, Mother’s Day Celebration and Dog Day Afternoon. Summer Movie Nights under the stars are making their comeback as well.

“We’re excited to debut some fresh new experiences alongside our favorite annual events this season,” said Aly Wente, fifth-generation winegrower and senior vice president of marketing and customer experiences.

“Whether you’re here for a casual afternoon with friends, a family gathering, or a special evening of wine and food, we’re all about creating moments that feel both relaxed yet celebratory,” she added.

To kick off the season this Saturday (April 12), Wente is set to welcome guests to the new, nth DEGREE Dinner from 6-9 p.m.

Hosted by fifth-generation winemaker Karl D. Wente, the intimate event features a curated, wine-paired menu showcasing the limited-production nth DEGREE wines. These wines are part of a small lot program intended to reflect the distinctive terroir of the Wente vineyards in Livermore Valley and Arroyo Seco, Monterey, according to the winery’s website. Attendees must be 21 years old or older.

On May 11, Wente is scheduled to host the annual Mother’s Day Celebration. This family-friendly event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. features live entertainment from DJ Robbie Rich, food truck offerings including Super Mario’s and Curve Ball as well as an array of Wente wines, beer and cocktails, according to the winery. Set in the Wente lawn, general admission is complementary. For a more exclusive experience, guests can pay to reserve a table, which includes seating for up to 10 guests, two bottles of wine and a gourmet cheese and charcuterie board.

On the morning of the Mother’s Day Celebration, Wente is also hosting a brunch from 10 a.m. to noon. The offered meal is a Chef’s Table brunch buffet with a variety of handcrafted dishes.

For guests 21 years old and up, bottomless mimosas are available as well as a selection of beverages from the full bar — although the brunch itself is open to the whole family.

Next in the lineup is Wente’s annual White Party, set for May 25 from 1-5 p.m. The winery encourages guests to dress in their finest white-colored clothing, for dancing to live music, dining on gourmet food and sipping on beverages from a wide selection of wine, beer and cocktails. Guests must be at least 21 years old.

Wente is also hosting its Summer Music Series of tribute bands this year, running May 29 through Sept. 14. This year’s lineup includes tributes to George Michael, ABBA, Santana, Prince, Tom Petty, Bruno Mars and Eagles.

In addition to live music, guests can enjoy a variety of foods, Wente wines and beverages from a full bar.

Performances include George Michael Reborn on May 29, ABBA Tribute on June 6, Carnaval (Santana tribute) on June 13, When Doves Cry (Prince tribute) on July 25, Petty Theft (Tom Petty tribute) on Aug. 16, 24K Magic (Bruno Mars tribute) on Sept. 5 and ILLEAGLES (Eagles tribute) on Sept. 14. Following the tribute performances, Wente is scheduled to host a Jazz Festival on Oct. 12.

Doors open to all shows at 6 p.m. and the concerts are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Returning this year is Wente’s Summer Movie Nights, starting July 10 with a showing of “Mamma Mia!” Other films brought to the vineyards include “Jurassic Park” on July 17 and “Wicked” on July 24.

A selection of Wente wines, beer and cocktails will be available for purchase as well as concessions and food from an American Faire-inspired menu. Guests are encouraged to bring low-back chairs and blankets for a comfortable viewing space.

Entrance is free and open to all ages. The door opens for all movies at 5:30 p.m., when guests can secure a spot on the lawn, in first-come first-serve fashion. Prior to the start of the movie, DJ entertainment is scheduled from 6-8 p.m.

On July 20, Wente is prepared to host Dog Day Afternoon, a wine experience where guests can invite their canine friends. Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wente will sell wine by the bottle and food will be available for purchase. There will even be treats for furry friends.

Valley Humane Society will have adoptable puppies at the afternoon event. Valley Humane will also be accepting new, unused donations for animals. Reservations for Dog Day Afternoon are not required. All dogs must be on a leash and an adult must supervise children at all times.
