With the kickoff of the Bankhead Theater’s 2024-25 season just a few weeks away, Livermore Valley Arts officials sweetened the pot last week by revealing more than a dozen performances now booked for the back half of their calendar.

The additions to the schedule — for which tickets will be on sale for the general public starting this Friday — include acts from America and abroad showcasing a range of talents in music, dance, comedy, illumination and more.
“There is something for everyone, with more star artists and performers up close and personal right here at the beautiful Bankhead, an intimate space that performers and audiences both treasure,” LVA officials said in a press release. “Tri-Valley audiences can take a journey across the globe from the comfort of their favorite seat at The Bankhead.”
The announcement actually began with two new experiences added for October and January, respectively.
LVA confirmed it will be expanding its ArtWalk free community event on Oct. 12 past sundown with music by Dustbowl Revival and the Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show led by light artist Lance Gordon outdoors in the Bankhead Plaza that night.
“Pushing the boundaries of what American roots music can be after over a decade and thousands of shows, Dustbowl Revival continues making their joyful, booty-shaking soul songs and cut-to-heart folk-rock ballads that lift up their transcendent live shows,” LVA reps said. “Mad Alchemy will provide a mesmerizing one-of-a-kind visual experience that fuses light and art with the music of Dustbowl Revival into a psychedelic extravaganza.”
“ArtWalk After Dark” is set to start at 8 p.m. Oct. 12.

Then on Jan. 3, Andrew Molina — known for his concerts highlighting his “Hawaiian musical roots, infused with contemporary ukulele”, according to LVA — will play in the Bankhead’s more intimate Stage Door Lounge setting.
The Bankhead’s spring season fun will begin a few days before the equinox with Téada capturing the St. Patrick’s Day spirit on March 17, followed by Yamato’s “The Drummers of Japan” show on the night of March 19.
The next weekend will see iLuminate, a “fusion of technology and dance … dancers in electrified glow-in-the-dark suits performing routines and illusions on a darkened stage”, on March 28 and a concert with the Daniel Ho Quintet that will “transcend genres” on March 29, according to LVA.

As the calendar turns to April, comedy arrives on back-to-back Fridays with the Second City tour straight out of Chicago on April 11 and the Best of SF Comedy Competition on April 18.
The month will also bring Silkroad Ensemble’s “Uplifted Voices” program on April 4, the family-friendly DLUX Puppets’ “Neverland” theater performance on April 6, American West tunes with Sons of the Pioneers on April 13 and contemporary dance with classical North India roots with Leela Dance Collective on April 19.

Ahead of Cinco de Mayo, the Bankhead will present the “sonic explosion of Afro-Mexican rhythms, electronic beats and powerful rhymes” that is Las Cafeteras on May 2 and two-time Latin Grammy nominee Mariachi Herencia de México for an “electrifying and unforgettable night of Mexican music and culture” on May 3.
Next up will be a high-octane concert with the nine-piece Red Hot Chilli Pipers on May 9 — “It’s Bagpipes. It’s Rock. It’s Bagrock,” LVA reps quipped.
And closing out the month of May will be Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience for a Mother’s Day matinee on May 11.
