Pleasanton Military Families Support Group was formed in 2003 and its mission is to provide support and comfort to the families of Pleasanton residents whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. This group has monthly meetings and other events such as “pack outs” of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces; the next pack out is for Easter and takes place March 26. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where these personnel have streamers displayed with their name, rank and branch of service.
