Christine Scharmer will talk about her book, “Raising Mario Twice,” at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Pleasanton Public Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave. Her book is about the first seven years of recovery for her son Mario who in 2002 at the age of 18, under the influence of alcohol, drove into a light post at 60 mph.
