Another evacuation order has been lifted for an area near a large brush fire burning by Pleasanton, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night.
The “Little Fire” started about 2:40 p.m. near Vallecitos and Little Valley roads in the Sunol area of Alameda County. As of 10:21 p.m., the blaze was at 1,007 acres and 10% containment.
Cal Fire said the fire is in a remote location with difficult access and continues to threaten structures and powerlines.
Evacuation orders for four areas have been removed and residents can return home, according to the sheriff’s office, but three other areas remain ordered to evacuate.Â
Evacuation orders have been removed in zones ALC-072, PLS-080, PLS-082, and PLS-079, including the Ruby Hill community, according to Cal Fire and the sheriff’s office. Residents in those zones are permitted to return to their homes.
Evacuation orders remain in place for PLS-081 and PLS-103 and will remain through the evening, the sheriff’s office said.Â
Residents in those zones are asked to use Highway 84/Vallecitos Road or Happy Valley Road.
A temporary shelter has been set up at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., according to the sheriff’s office.
Cal Fire said one firefighter has been injured, but officials haven’t released any details about the nature of the injury.
The Bay Area Air District has issued an air quality advisory in the East Bay through Tuesday due to the wildfire’s smoke.
