Two people were found fatally shot in a Pleasanton residence near the Ken Mercer Sport Park on Wednesday morning, police said.
The Pleasanton Police Department stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident based on the preliminary investigation.
The situation unfolded at around 10 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 18) when officers responded to reports of gunshots coming from a home located on the 3100 block of Joanne Circle. Upon arriving, officers entered the home and found “two apparent adults with multiple gunshot wounds”.
“Both subjects were pronounced deceased at the scene by (the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department),” PPD stated in a press release late that afternoon. “The identities of the deceased are not being released until next of kin are notified.”
According to police, it is an active investigation and anyone with any information about the shooting is urged to contact the department at 925-931-5100. It was not clear whether any suspect is outstanding, and police did not immediately respond to questions to clarify the circumstances of the case.
