Police have arrested five boys in Livermore in connection with a June armed robbery and assault outside a San Jose casino that left a man injured, authorities said.

The incident occurred on June 23 about 8:54 p.m. when four suspects allegedly tried to take the victim’s bag as he left the business, San Jose police said.

One suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the victim before striking him with the firearm. The suspects fled with about $2,000 and other belongings, according to the police.

The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives identified five juveniles as suspects and obtained arrest and search warrants. On Sept. 3 and 4, robbery detectives, working with the SJPD Covert Response Unit and Livermore police, arrested all five male juveniles in Livermore and found evidence linking them to the crime, SJPD said.

The juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a firearm. Livermore police said the suspects ranged in age from 12 to 18 years old.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Leonard at 408-277-4166 or 4913@sanjoseca.gov, or submit an anonymous tip at www.siliconvalleycrimestoppers.org.
