The Tri-Valley will have the chance to explore one of the deepest questions in human history, “Are we alone in the universe?” – and for the keynote speaker, the answer is a resounding no.

Author Luis “Lue” Elizondo, a former counterintelligence special agent who investigated unexplained phenomena for the U.S. government, will unmask “long-hidden truths with profound implications for not only national security but our understanding of the universe” next week at the Bankhead Theater, according to Livermore Valley Arts.
“Elizondo’s focus is to champion government transparency, including but not limited to disclosure of (unidentified anomalous phenomena) in a meaningful way to ensure transparency and accountability within governments, and effect positive change for our society,” LVA officials said.
“With the belief that truth and honesty are the best approaches for a collaborative future, his work is deliberate and calculated, with the goal to challenge current mindsets and policies in order to enable joint efforts across all governments, people, institutions, organizations, academia and scientific communities,” they added.
The former head of the Pentagon’s UFO Investigation Unit, Elizondo worked for decades investigating UAP incursions into American airspace and military installations, some of the most sensitive and classified cases and programs in U.S. history, LVA reps noted. His latest book, “Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFOs”, was published by HarperCollins last year.
Elizondo’s presentation, “Universal Truth, The Evidence is Clear: We Are Not Alone”, is set for next Thursday (Sept. 18) at 7:30 p.m. at the Bankhead in downtown Livermore.
It is the second installment of LVA’s 2025-26 Rae Dorough Speaker Series, named for the late longtime Livermore resident and supporter of the arts.
This year’s series kicked off last Friday with “Seinfeld” alum Jason Alexander. The other three speakers on the bill are archeologist Lisa Briggs with “A Pirate’s Life” on Nov. 13, fossil seeker Louise Leakey with “Digging for Humanity’s Origin” on Jan. 29 and adventurer Peter Hillary with “70 Years of Everest” on March 5.
