The fourth annual Wine and Equine Festival will bring together Esin Restaurant and Wente Vineyards, Murietta’s Well and Drake’s Brewing Company to raise money for SonRise Equestrian Foundation. It takes place from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Charles Wilhelm Training Center in Castro Valley, will also include demonstrations and a horse show.

It’s all about creating loving connections between children and horses, and the Wine and Equine Festival helps the Danville-based foundation do just that. The nonprofit provides riding and horse care programs to children ages 8 to 18 with social, emotional and physical challenges. They also take miniature horses to visit younger children at school and those who are terminally ill in hospice settings.

Raising funds through this event is crucial for SonRise, as it is the majority of their annual income to provide its services free of charge.

Tickets are $75 per person and there will also be a wine cellar raffle, and live and silent auctions. For more information, call 838-7433 or visit www.sonriseequestrianfoundation.org.
