The Seahawks were well represented at the Pacific Swimming’s Zone All-Star Meet March 4 at the University of San Francisco Koret Swim Center. Swimmers qualified for the All-Star meet based upon their performances at the Zone 2 Championships Feb. 10 and 11. Thousands of swimmers from Alameda and Contra Costa counties are included in Zone 2 of Pacific Swimming so this is quite an honor for these 11 Seahawks swimmers.
Foothill Freshman outlast Clayton Valley High
The Foothill freshman baseball team broke out the bats early to take a 10-to-1 lead after four innings only to have to battle Clayton for a 12-to-11 win. The Falcon 10 hit attack was lead by Brandon DeFazio’s 3-for-3 night at the plate (one double, two singles and a walk). Reece Yamada and Matt Owen also delivered two hits each, with Elias Khoury and Michael Hisaka adding doubles in the winning effort.
Pitching was handled by William Anderson (four innings), DeFazio (one inning) and Owen (two innings), scattering nine hits over seven innings. Owen delivered the final blow striking out the last Clayton batter with bases loaded.
The team’s next game is 3:30 today at home against the Berkeley Yellowjackets.
