The Amador Valley High School Dons took their show on the road last week and walked away with a 48-7 win over the host Livermore Cowboys. Livermore was dominated from their first possession, which ended on an interception by the Dons’ Mike Azevedo, through the Dons’ last score and a 77-yard run by JR Souza. In between, the Dons offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage, leading AVHS to 251 yards on the ground. Casey Guillory rushed for 2 touchdowns and 108 yards on only 12 carries.
The defense and special teams shined again as the defense allowed only 158 total yards and only 10 passing yards. The special teams contributed as well with an 85-yard kickoff return from Brett Lewis.
Maxpreps.com now has the Dons (5-0 overall, 1-0 in league) ranked 20th in the state and No. 3 in the North Coast Section. Next up for the Dons is a tough road game against the No. 8 team in the North Coast Section Monte Vista (4-1, 1-1).
Foothill 42 ñ Granada 0
The Falcon defense imposed their will on the Granada offense in FoothillÃs 42-0 road win at Granada High School in Livermore. The defense recorded five quarterback sacks and combined with the special teams to force four Granada turnovers. The Mustangs managed only 87 total yards, including only 27 yards rushing on 30 carries.
Not to be outdone, the Falcon offense rushed for 224 yards and gained 158 more yards in the air. Rob Andrews set the tone with four touchdowns and 109 yards on only 10 carries. At 6 feet 3 inches, Andrews combines both speed and power and is dominating on his own. Combine Andrewsà skills with an offensive line that opens gaping holes and you have a recipe for long runs, including a 63-yard run for a touchdown against the Mustangs.
The Falcons (5-0, 2-0) have moved up to 23rd in the Maxpreps.com State Football rankings (fourth in the North Coast Section) and play their homecoming game tonight against the 13th ranked California Grizzlies (4-1, 2-0).

Amador Girls Water Polo Dominates Foothill
While the emotions and energy were high on both sides, Amador took control of the game from the opening tip and never looked back, defeating arch rival Foothill 12ñ5 in girlÃs varsity water polo.
Amador dominated the game with a combination of pressure defense and powerful offense. On the offensive side, Marina Allen, Danielle Desmet, Allie Glogovac, Jenn Docto, Nicole Plihal and Heidi Reddig scored goals. Defensively, Foothill was having a hard time executing their offense due to the steady defense of Sara Wetherell and the play of goal-keepers, Alexa Davis and Caitlin Desmet.
Amador sits in third place as they enter the second half of the league season.
Big Weekend for U13 Rage
The U13 Rage Division 3 team came away with two solid victories last weekend. Saturday’s action saw the Rage play host to Fremont. Stephanie Little was first to score, followed by another quick goal from Danielle LaMarche. Fremont scored once in the second half, but Aria Crawford scored her second goal of the season bringing the score to 3-1.
In the Rage’s second game of the weekend, the team traveled to Danville to face a very fast and aggressive Mustang team. Despite some aggressive offensive strikes, the first half ended in a scoreless tie. The second half was just as exciting but with 10 minutes left to play, Stephanie Little knocked a free kick to a streaking Danielle Homan who fired a shot into the back of the net for the only goal of the game.
