The city of Pleasanton is activating the Senior Center as a public Cooling Center for those seeking relief from the heat as temperatures are expected to rise past the century mark today (Friday, June 28) through Monday, July 1.
The Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., will be open from noon until 8 p.m. during this Cooling Center designation period. Visitors can enjoy air-conditioned facilities and may be served water and offered games and or/television viewing at the Senior Center.
Today and Monday, free transportation will be provided through Pleasanton Paratransit Services to the designated Cooling Center location for those ages 60 and older or ADA qualified. Call 931-5365 to schedule a ride and advise the dispatcher that you would like a ride to the Cooling Center.
