Jared Miller (second from right) was commissioned to the rank of second lieutenant in the U.S. Army following his graduation from the University of Colorado May 12. He was sworn in by his father, retired Army Major Doug Miller (second from left). His mother Jan and sisters Ashley and Reagan pinned on his bars. Both sisters traveled far for the event, with Reagan flying in from Cairo where she is studying Arabic and Ashley from Miami where she is a ninth grade teacher. Lieutenant Miller will report to Fort Rucker, Ala., at the end of July for flight training, the same program his father completed in 1968.
