Repair crews are scheduled to continue work on the El Cerro Boulevard on-ramp to southbound Interstate 680, necessitating a daytime closure and detours on Danville town streets in the area on Tuesday.

The on-ramp will be fully closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 10), weather permitting, according to an advisory from Caltrans.

“Motorists traveling to southbound I-680 should use alternate nearby onramps, including Stone Valley Road or Sycamore Valley Road, as appropriate,” the state transportation agency stated.
The southbound El Cerro ramp was closed for similar reasons last Thursday (Feb. 5), with crews also closing an approach lane and conducting shoulder work between Alamo and Danville on that side of the freeway. An earlier closure occurred overnight Jan. 21-22, for what Caltrans described as “emergency roadway repairs, soundwall repairs and related work”.
