Who's Protecting Who?

Original post made by Bill, Amberwood/Wood Meadows, on Sep 11, 2012

At the end of this column is a listing of the TSA agents who were arrested within a year's time for heinous crimes against women and children. These same individuals were allowed to touch your child and pat you down while you were going through the security check points across the US. What kind of society are we living in where we have to wonder about perverted people having absolute power over the average citizen in a public setting.

In another story the US government now acknowledges that they cannot stop the 500 tons of cocaine that is entering the US by way of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The drug kingpins are using diesel powered submersibles which cannot be detected. The DOD has spent how much on sub detection R&D?

US Federal agents raided a pot growing operation in the ridges above Crystal Springs Reservoir. This reservoir provides "all" of San Francisco's water. During the raid the agents discovered that the pot growers were using pesticides and herbicides that have been outlawed for decades. The DEA is now trying to figure out how much toxic substances leeched into the reservoir. Who needs terrorists?

Don't worry though, the US government is perfecting the algorithm for facial recognition so that every surveillance camera can record your every movement. So a guy can beach his disabled boat on the waterway bordering JFK airport, walk across 4 runways, enter a high security area and not be recognized by 500 million dollars worth of high tech detection and tracking equipment. But driving to this same airport the average citizen will be tracked at every traffic intersection as a potential terrorist.
