A new youth soccer league is debuting in Livermore during this fall season, with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District founding the program for families looking for a “community-centered option focused on fun, development and connection” on the field.
With registration opening this week, the inaugural Livermore Community Soccer League season will leverage LARPD sports facilities across Livermore games beginning Aug. 22. Special training sessions for players and coaches are also in the works, and scholarship opportunities will be available for those who need assistance, officials said.
“This league is about creating a space where kids can learn the game, build confidence and play with friends,” league coordinator Sebastian Forero said in a press release. “I’m passionate about the game and excited to share that with our community through a fun and positive soccer experience.”
Presumably poised to compete with the Livermore Fusion Soccer Club for youth players this autumn, the new Livermore Community Soccer League will organize divisions for kids between 5 and 12 years old. Teams will form using U.S. Soccer age guidelines, with the option to request placement among friends when possible, according to LARPD.
Coaches will be given training and ongoing guidance, and parent volunteers will be encouraged to play an integral role, according to the park district.

“Designed for players of all experience levels, the league emphasizes skill-building, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship in a welcoming environment for both players and families,” LARPD reps said. “The program is structured to create a consistent and supportive experience, with weekly practices, dedicated field space for teams, and clear communication with our soccer league coordinator throughout the season.”
With registration fees between $235 and $250, plus roughly $60 for uniforms, the league is offering scholarships for those who qualify via the LARPD Foundation’s Community Support Program. Discounts are also available for head coaches.
