A handful of small earthquakes have been recorded in the Tri-Valley in recent days, with the largest measured at magnitude 3.4 on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The five on Friday and 10 total in about a week, while multiple in number, were not quite on the scale of the several swarms of quakes with epicenters primarily in San Ramon going back to the fall that generated regional and national headlines.

The two largest in the past week were recorded in quick succession just after 10:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 30) at 3.4 and 3.1 magnitude centered in San Ramon, according to the USGS. Three more were measured on Friday: 2.9 magnitude in San Ramon at 10:33 a.m., 1.7 magnitude at 11:46 a.m. in Dublin and 2.2 magnitude at 5:06 p.m. in San Ramon.

There were also five earlier earthquakes, all below 2.0 magnitude: one Thursday in San Ramon, one in Pleasanton and two in San Ramon on Wednesday and one last Sunday in Livermore.
