A 13-year-old boy sustained minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle last week while biking along East Avenue in Livermore, the city’s police department said.

“The cause of the collision is still under investigation,” Livermore Police Department officials told Livermore Vine on Tuesday.

At about 7:45 a.m. last Monday (Sept. 29), LPD responded to a report of the collision at the intersection of East Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue.

Police found that a 34-year-old Livermore driver, turning left onto East Avenue, struck the juvenile cyclist as he was riding westbound on the street.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The minor cyclist’s name and school were not released by police.
