The Pleasanton Downtown Association is lauding its latest Weekends on Main program as a resounding success, crediting two special events for helping bring more than 25,000 visitors to the downtown core.

The recurring program saw Main Street closed to vehicular traffic from last Friday afternoon through Sunday night to encourage people to mingle on the street while perusing shops and eateries downtown. The second of two Weekends on Main scheduled in 2025, the Aug. 1-3 installment was buoyed by Porsches on Main on Saturday and the Pleasanton Palooza street fair on Sunday.

“It was a weekend full of joy, connection and discovery,” PDA Executive Director Gabrielle Welk told the Weekly.

“Events like this remind us of the power of community, bringing people together for fun, free and family-friendly activities that make our downtown the vibrant heart of the city,” Welk said. “They also highlight how vital it is to support small, locally-owned businesses, which are the backbone of our downtown and thrive when we gather and shop locally. Your support ensures that these businesses continue to grow and keep Pleasanton unique and vibrant.”

After the “incredible turnout” last weekend and the results of the June installment, Welk added, “Weekends on Main 2025 was a major success and we are walking away from this season with full hearts and excitement for what is coming next.”
