A driver was transported to a local hospital Sunday afternoon with minor injuries after crashing their Tesla into a home in Pleasanton, according to a social media post by the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department’s union.
The driver — who was not named by the union in the post on Sunday — was not the owner of the home, according to Teri Yan, community and public relations coordinator for the Pleasanton Police Department.
LPFD spokesperson Rosa Ramos told the Weekly that while the driver of the vehicle did not live in the area, they do “have family in the vicinity.”
The owner of the home, according to Yan, did not report any injuries at the scene.
According to the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Local 1974 post on Sunday, at around 1:10 p.m. firefighters responded to a traffic collision at Valley Trails Drive involving a vehicle that crashed into a building.
“Firefighters arrived at the scene and provided medical treatment to one patient with minor injuries until an ambulance transported the patient to a local hospital for further evaluation,” the Facebook post stated. “Due to the structural damage to the home, firefighters built a timber spot shore until permanent repairs could be made.”
Ramos said no substances were at play and that the crash was “purely an accident. An overcorrection.”
Yan said that preliminary findings also “suggest the incident was not the result of a vehicle malfunction.”
