Crowds jammed downtown Pleasanton Saturday for Halloween festivities that included special restaurant and retail store offerings and a scarecrow and pumpkin-carving contest at the Museum On Main.

The event, sponored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, included a dessert contest, spooky scavenger hunt and more.

Other events included the CIFF Haunted House, “Tri-Valley High — Episodes of Terror,” Halloween Fun Night and Spooktacular Breakfast.

Shoppers also took part in the Scarecrow Raffle at the museum, with winners walking away with some of the scarecrows.

  1. Nobody is concerned about you or your feelings Cholo, you have proven over and over you don’t care about anyone elses. Now say you always take the high road, take the opposing view on the issue and end with hahahahahehehehe.

  2. TYU: I’m sure your comment wasn’t meant to intentionally hurt anyone, but just so you know you should think again about your comment and how it may have affected some people. Maybe share that you didn’t mean it in a bad way. My teen was just diagnosed with Type 1 this year and I am still trying to get over the shock and sadness for him. Any comment like yours is still hard to take.

  3. Anyone who was “offended” by the diabetic comment TYU made needs to get a grip. Lighten up or don’t read a public forum…it really is that simple. Things said in jest are just that – and everyone read it just as that…until some of you piped up at being ‘offended’. Of course we understand your “issue” with these harmless comments since you are most likely a whiny liberal in which case we all understand that you suffer from a “disease of sensitivity”. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh – get over yourselves.

    Where’s Stacey these days?

  4. I’ll say sorry to those truly offended. I have family members with diabetes, and we joke around about it at times. I won’t share those jokes if my post offended people though. Anyway the pictures were very cute and sweet. I should have said I got a cavity from how sweet those pictures are, but then people who have had recent root canals would be mad. So…cute pictures.

  5. TYU: Thanks for your new comment. I am sure since we are new to diabetes we will get stronger as time goes on, but the reality is it is more than just a root canal,(I wish) injections 4 times a day for life as of now and a 24/7 deal. I look forward to the day when we can joke around, but unless it actually happens to your own kid it is hard to understand.

Wow: First, I am as conservative as they come, just happen to be sensitive about this and felt the need to say something. You just assume I’m a liberal and why? Quite the opposite. Maybe if you put yourself in my shoes or other parents that have had recently diagnosed Type 1 kids you would possibly understand. Let’s see if you would lighten up then. I admit,as time goes on I probably wouldn’t take a comment like this to heart. I’m done on this topic.

  6. How about some comments that pertain to the story? I attended the Fall Fest and I thought it was great. My kids dressed in costume and participated in the scavenger hunt. My wife and I walked the downtown with them, while participating in the dessert competition. Wow, the desserts were so awesome. I am going back to Pasta’s tonight to get some Pumpkin Tiramisu to go. My son didn’t win in his category for his very well carved pumpkin, but it was fun watching everyone else win. It was great to have something to do for the kids and us before we get thrown into the holiday season. I hope the downtown continues to coordinate these activities.

  7. I agree, the Fall Fest was so much fun. We did the scavenger hunt, the dessert contest and went in to all of the stores and participated in their activites, it was so much fun. We ended our day with a turkey sandwich at Me and My Friends Cafe while our daughter painted a cookie there. It was such a great end to our day, I really hope downtown Pleasanton will continue this tradition.

  8. I loved al the festivities! The kids were so cute, the weather was gorgeous, the fruits and vegetables looked delish, and I didn’t want the day to end!

  9. and to TYU….. I support you 100%. and to all the so easily offended: “When you are offended at any man’s fault, turn to yourself and study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.”
