Alameda County Fair officials announced this week that they’ve set the dates for the 2020 fair in Pleasanton. The summer showcase will run for 18 days between June 19 and July 12.

With a theme of “Road to Summer 2020,” the fair will feature many favorites such as carnival rides, fair food, the Big O Tires Concert Series, shopping, live horse racing, action sports, exhibitions, animal displays, Kids Park, children’s STEAM activities, and numerous special events and cultural festivals.

“This year’s theme celebrates all the classic elements that lead people back to the fair year after year,” fairgrounds CEO Jerome Hoban said. “Whether it is the mouth-watering food, star-studded entertainment or the thrilling rides, the Alameda County Fair is your destination for summer fun.”

Swalwell cancels town hall

U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Livermore) canceled his final district town hall of the year, originally scheduled for this Saturday in Dublin, citing his need to remain in Washington, D.C., with duties related to the impeachment inquiry.

He said, “It’s with a heavy heart that I must postpone our town hall meeting scheduled for this Saturday, December 7, in Dublin. I must remain in Washington, D.C., this weekend for Judiciary Committee activities related to the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

“I remain committed to hearing from the 15th District’s constituents as often as possible, and we will reschedule this meeting as soon we can — so please watch for future emails, as well as for notices on my Facebook page and my website. Thanks for your understanding!”

  3. Swalwell postponed because his thing is charades and Washington hyperbole. Also, he did not want to be confronted with my questions, again.

  4. “It is with a heavy heart that I must postpone our town hall meeting…”. That is impossible, Swalwell doesn’t even have a heart. Now LBJ had a heavy heart. Swalwell…well he’s just a silly person.
