The Workday Foundation recently held its annual Workforce Week, the Pleasanton-based company’s largest global volunteer initiative that aims to help job seekers in underserved communities develop technical skills so they can find well-paying and longer-lasting employment.

More than 170 Workday volunteers and over 185 job seekers took part in the week-long event.

“We believe deeply that while talent is everywhere, opportunity is not,” said Carrie Varoquiers, vice president, global impact at Workday, and president of the Workday Foundation. “We host Workforce Week because we understand we have a role to play in ensuring we close the opportunity gap.”
