The annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction is returning this month for its 31st year of raising funds to support underserved youth across the East Bay.
This year’s event aims to build on the tradition of offering valuable items and experiences in a live and silent auction that will benefit four local organizations, including CALICO as the fund-a-need beneficiary.

CALICO, or the Child Abuse, Listening, Interviewing, and Coordination Center, is a San Leandro-based organization that provides critical forensic interviewing and family advocacy services to children who have experienced abuse, according to a statement from the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation announcing the event.
The auction will also benefit Tri-Valley nonprofits Open Heart Kitchen, Sunflower Hill and Valley Humane Society.
“On behalf of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation, we are looking forward to hosting the 31st annual wine auction to raise funds to benefit underserved children across the East Bay community,” said Brandi Lombardi, executive director of the Livermore Valley Wine Community and auction director.
“Since 1995, the foundation and auction attendees have raised over $6.8 million for deserving organizations that directly impact the lives of so many children in our community. Come out and join us at this year’s event for an afternoon of sunshine, wine, great food, camaraderie and giving,” Lombardi added.
The event will feature wine tasting hosted by Livermore Valley winemakers and an array of live and silent auction items, ranging from wine to private dinners to vacations around the world.
“Our commitment to supporting under-served local children is unwavering and we hope you can join us at the festive, outdoor, afternoon garden party. Think big hats and summer dresses, sear sucker suits, bow ties, and maybe even dressy shorts!,” organizers wrote of the vibe and atmosphere that attendees can expect.
The outdoor festivities are set for next Saturday (Sept. 20) from 2-5 p.m. at Wente Vineyards. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit lvwf.org.
