Zone 7 seeks input on Flood Management Plan
The Zone 7 Water Agency is hosting three meetings next week where Tri-Valley residents can learn more and provide input on the agency’s Flood Management Plan, a comprehensive plan the agency is developing to address current and future flood risks.
“This high-level strategy aims to improve flood protection and reduce flood risks for our communities and the environment,” the agency stated in a press release.
The first meeting is Jan. 13 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Zone 7 administration building in Livermore. The second and third meetings will occur during the same time frame: the second at the Shannon Community Center Multi-Purpose Room in Dublin on Jan. 14, and the last at the Amador Recreation Center in Pleasanton on Jan. 15.

All In for Kids
Stephen Vogt, a two-time American League Manager of the Year and former MLB All-Star who played for both the A’s and Giants, is hosting this year’s 2026 All In for Kids Celebrity Poker Tournament, an annual two-day celebration benefiting the School of Imagination & Happy Talkers.
According to its press release, the organization will celebrate 25 years of being “one of the region’s most impactful nonprofits serving children and their families.” The Dublin-based nonprofit primarily supports early childhood education for kids of all abilities.
Former Dublin mayor and now BART Director Melissa Hernandez will also be honored at the event as the 2026 honorary chair.
“The weekend brings together sports legends, civic champions, and business leaders to raise funds for inclusive education, early intervention, and family-centered therapies,” according to a press release.
Indian dance, celebration event at Firehouse
The Sthalam School of Dance will be hosting its Sthalam-Sangamam 2026 event at the Firehouse Arts Center this Saturday (Jan. 10), which will feature an evening of “Indian classical dance, devotion and celebration”.
According to Anusha Natarajan, artistic director at the school of dance, the program will present young aspiring dancers from the Bay Area and highlight “traditional Bharatanatyam presentations, including the classical dance drama Kutrala Kuravanji, celebrating Indian cultural heritage through music, movement, and storytelling.”
Bharatanatyam, Natarajan said, is one of India’s most revered classical dance traditions.
“Beyond artistic excellence, Sthalam Sangamam is anchored in purpose,” Natarajan said. “A portion of the event proceeds will support the Brain Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing research and advocacy in neurodiversity.”
The event will take place from 3-7 p.m.
LAVTA looking at Pleasanton bus routes
The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority is hosting a two-part community workshop at the Firehouse Arts Center next Tuesday (Jan. 13) where the transportation agency will be gathering input from residents on two bus planning efforts that are currently underway in Pleasanton.
According to a LAVTA press release, the first part of the meeting, which starts at 5 p.m., will focus on discussing bus routes that serve Pleasanton middle and high schools while the second part of the meeting, which begins at 6 p.m., will focus on alternative bus route options for the 10R bus that runs through downtown Pleasanton.
“Wheels launched this effort to look for ways to relieve operating congestion in the Neal St. area of downtown Pleasanton, to improve on-time performance, and to address changing school boundaries with consideration for challenges when operating large buses in residential neighborhoods,” the press release stated.
“The workshop will explore opportunities to streamline routes and improve overall service reliability, and participants will be asked to complete a survey with their thoughts and opinions about the alternatives. The results are expected to be implemented later in 2026,” LAVTA officials added.
