The Pleasanton City Council is scheduled to meet in closed session on Monday afternoon to conference with the city’s bargaining team regarding ongoing labor negotiations with a city employee union.

The city government and the Pleasanton City Employees Association Local 955 have been locked in negotiations without a resolution for months, and those union employees have been working without a contract since theirs lapsed May 31.

Local 955 is part of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), whose District Council 57 for the area was placed under emergency administratorship by the national union president in June.

The special council meeting is set to begin at 4 p.m. Monday (Nov. 10) in the City Council Conference Room at the Pleasanton Civic Center, 200 Old Bernal Ave.
