It’s been roughly four months since Clover Creek opened its new location next to the Raley’s on Sunol Boulevard — a move that store owner Alexis Gass said has come with a lot of benefits.
“It’s been quite a journey,” Gass told the Weekly.
Gass originally made the announcement that the popular unique gifts and home furnishings store would be departing from its previous home at 670 Main St. back in September 2023.

A longtime staple of Pleasanton’s downtown, Clover Creek had been at its previous location for 30 years and had won multiple awards in the Pleasanton Weekly Readers’ Choice contest over the years, including Best Place to Buy a Gift and Best Home Furnishings in 2022.
But in December 2023, the store officially closed its downtown doors and moved to a temporary warehouse where it operated out of a few days each week.
Back in 2023, Gass told the Weekly there was a “convergence of many reasons” why the store moved. However, in a recent statement she further explained that out of the number of factors, parking was one of the main decisions why they did not renew the downtown store lease.
“Downtown parking has always been a problem but during and since Covid it has become more problematic for our customers,” Gass said. “With our new location at Raley’s shopping center, our customers love it and have expressed their appreciation for easier access to our store.”
She said although it did take a while for them to find the store’s new home before ultimately selecting 5424 Sunol Blvd., the former coffee shop space at the Oak Hill Shopping Center, the goal was always to find a spot that was close to their original location and that had easy parking.
“We are adjusting well. We’ve made the store layout similar to our Main Street location and we have great business neighbors,” Gass said. “Our customers regularly comment on how nice the new shop looks, ease of access and plenty of parking.”
