Livermore Valley Wine Community is set to close out the month with a tasting event celebrating the winners of the annual Uncorked Wine Competition.

The competition features the Livermore Valley’s finest wines. In total, 140 medals were awarded with Wente Family Vineyards 2021 Limited Release Cabernet Franc winning Best Red and Las Positas Vineyards 2024 Estate Albarino winning Best White.

The culminating tasting event set for Saturday marks the end of the competition that included a comprehensive judging process by a distinguished panel of 13 wine professionals, including certified sommeliers and wine educators from both the Bay Area and across the United States. The judges evaluated each wine on complexity, balance, typicity, and fault-free characteristics, according to LVWC officials.

For its first 15 years, Uncorked was hosted by Tri-Valley Conservancy, but the viticulture and conservation nonprofit passed the baton to LVWC this year to keep the tradition alive.

“In 2025 TVC passed the torch of hosting the Uncorked event to the LVWA. It was determined that hosting the wine competition and consumer event aligned more closely with the mission and vision of the LVWA allowing TVC to increase their primary focus of conservation in the Valley,” said Brandi Lombardi, executive director of the Wine Community, in a statement to Livermore Vine.

“With that said, the LVWA and the TVC have a longstanding vibrant partnership and will continue to work together to ensure the sustainability of our beautiful award-winning wine region,” she added.

The tasting celebration is set for Saturday (May 31) from 5-9 p.m. at Murrieta’s Well.

Organizers said guests will explore and taste the winning wines among the barrels and expansive outdoor patio at the venue.

Additionally, for wine enthusiasts seeking deeper knowledge, an intimate, educational seminar led by LVWC will be held from 4-5 p.m., discussing the ins and outs of Livermore Valley’s Signature Varietals – which were recently named as Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc – and the region’s heritage varietals.
