Aya Keller, 6, of Pleasanton will be among the performers at the Fourth Annual Youth Music Festival. The festival begins at 8 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Amador Theater.

Twice as many performers auditioned this year compared to last: 61 to 2005’s 34. Show co-director, Mark Duncanson said, “The extraordinary talent the young artists displayed made the selection process very difficult. Personally, I’m convinced that some of the young artists have professional careers ahead of them. Won’t it be fun to say, “Gee, I saw him perform in the Pleasanton Youth Music Festival when he was just a kid!”

The 25 instrumentalists and vocal groups who made the cut range in age from 5-18 and come from throughout the East Bay.

Advance tickets are $7 (until 2 p.m. Feb. 24), $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at www.civicartstickets.org until 1 a.m. the day of the performance; by phone, 931-3444; or in person at the Amador Theater Box Office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and for two hours prior to the performance.
