Livermore police arrested a transient over the weekend for allegedly breaking windows of at least five downtown businesses.

At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a glass break alarm at Walgreens on First Street. While investigating, officers learned of four other downtown businesses that had broken glass store fronts, including Caratti Jewelers, Rosetta Roasting, Livermore Chamber of Commerce and Mosaic Lodge.
Officers arrested a 41-year-old transient a short time later and booked him into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of vandalism.
According to the Alameda County inmate locator, the suspect is being held on $60,000 bail and is set to be arraigned on Wednesday (July 24).
